Plush toys in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province are one of the traditional local industries. In 2025, in the face of the pressure of continuous tariffs imposed by the United States, Yangzhou toy companies will take the initiative to change. In a toy company in the West Lake Science and Technology Pioneer Park in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, Zhang Yabo, the person in charge, and the designer are adjusting a sample of a plush toy made of renewable fabrics. More than ninety percent of the company’s orders once came from the United States, but since 2017, they have gradually explored the European market, developed environmentally friendly toys, and settled in cross-border e-commerce platforms. By the end of 2024, orders in the U.S. market will fall to about 60%. At present, corporate orders mainly come from the United Kingdom and Germany. In addition to exploring new markets, the company is also optimizing the production process, launching small-batch customization services, and cooperating with cultural and creative enterprises to build their own brands. Yangzhou plush toy industry has a long history, and now has developed into an industrial cluster with an adult output value of more than 20 billion yuan and an annual export value of 3 billion to 4 billion yuan. On April 18, Yangzhou City issued the “Several Measures to Promote the Transformation and Development of the Plush Toy Industry” to help enterprises cope with challenges.
